Grants Committee Report - Spring 2004

Matthew Purtill, Committee Chair

So far, 2004 has been a busy year for the Grants Committee. We have already received three applications for funding which makes this one of the most active years in recent memory.

Please be aware that the Grants Committee has decided to reorganize the grant process for both the Essenpreis and OAC grants. Starting this year, there is a June first deadline for submission of grant applications. The Grants Committee will review all applications by July 15, at which time a recommendation for approval/rejection will be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for a final determination. The Board of Trustees may elect to fund several projects in any given year, depending on funding. The Board of Trustees will approve or reject grant applications by July 31. Because funding needs often are the result of unexpected, or unplanned, occurrences (e.g., salvage work), the Grants Committee also will consider any applications received between June 2 and December 1. These applications, however, will be reviewed in the order that they are received and approval will be dependent upon available annual funding. A full discussion of the new procedures will be posted on the OAC website or can be requested by contacting Matt Purtill at This email address is being protected from spambots.
