This year’s History Fund grant recipients were announced at the March 1 Statehood Day advocacy event. Three of the seven project funded are archaeology related! The three archaeology projects are:

  • $12,500 for the University of Akron to analyze Hopewell period prehistoric ceramic and stone artifacts.  
  • $12,000 for the Dayton Society of Natural History to build new exhibit space at SunWatch Indian Village and Archaeological Park.
  • $2,500 for Kent State University to conduct an archaeological survey at the Berlin Lake Reservoir.
